Class 3: Music First Experiences

Today we were playing the ukuleles. We were taught the chords of C, A minor and F. We strummed each cord of C, A minor , F , A minor 4 times each. With these chords we were able to sing can’t stop the feeling by Justin Timberlake. We had so much fun learning a new instrument.

Class 3: Pandora Predictions

Today we read the first half of the Greek myth Pandora’s Box. We worked in pairs to discuss possible outcomes for the story and explained whether we thought each ending was likely or unlikely, giving reasons for our opinions. We then diamond ranked our predictions in order of how likely we thought they were.

Class 3: 📖 Class Front Cover 📖

Class 3 have explored a variety of book front covers and discussed what makes them so effective. We thought carefully about questions such as:

What makes a book cover eye-catching?
What clues does a cover give about the story?
Which colours, shapes or characters stand out the most?
What creative touches have been used?

Using these ideas and inspired by the work we have been doing in class, the children designed their own front covers for our class book, The Class Who Grew Dragons.

As always, the children showed fantastic creativity and imagination. Their designs were full of bright colours, exciting details, and thoughtful ideas that reflected the themes and characters from the story. We are very proud of their hard work and artistic talents!

Class 3: 🏏 Cricket Coaching Part 6 – Batting and Fielding 🏏

Today we enjoyed our final session with our cricket coach and it was a brilliant way to round things off!

I was busy taking on the role of bowler this time, which meant I didn’t manage to take as many photographs as usual but it was fantastic to be part of the action.

Everyone had a great time and we’re looking forward to continuing to improve our cricket skills over the next few weeks. With two exciting tournaments coming up, I’ll be keeping an eye out for talented cricketers who could represent our school. Well done to everyone for their effort and teamwork!
