Madras Community Choir: Summer Concert

On Thursday 18^th and Friday 19th June, the Community Choir held there annual summer concert.

The School Choir also took part.

Once again, two very successful concerts, the audience enjoyed a varied programme and there were lots of compliments.

An amazing total of £800 was raised for school funds.

Thank you to everyone who supported the event.

The Community Choir will take a break now and restart in September.

New members are always welcome.

Our wonderful cricket team went to the Wrexham Schools’ Cricket Finals yesterday after an incredible qualifying tournament on Friday, where they won all of their games against other Wrexham schools.

In the finals, the team continued their fantastic form – winning their league, securing victory in the semi-finals and earning their place in the grand final. What an achievement for our little school!

Although we narrowly missed out in the final, the team played with great determination, teamwork and skill throughout the day.

We are incredibly proud of them all -this is a first for Madras and a truly memorable accomplishment.

Canals and Rivers Trust

Congratulations to our Madras team who competed in the Wrexham tournament at Gwersyllt today!
They performed brilliantly, winning all of their matches and impressing with lots of fantastic fours and sixes. The team have now secured their place in the Wrexham Schools finals on Monday — an outstanding achievement! Good luck to the team — we are all so proud of you!

Well done to these two teams who competed at the cricket tournament at Gwersyllt today. There was some fantastic team play on display, with excellent batting and bowling. We are very proud of you all!

Today Canal and River Trust came to deliver us an assembly on water safety. Firstly we identified all the dangers by the canal and river.  We then discussed how to keep ourselves safe if we fell into the water.  We demonstrated how we would star fish and float on our backs and remember not to try and swim.  Finally we looked at how to help others if they were in trouble in the water. We acted out how we could save someone .  Tell them to float on their back, if you have a ball or plastic bottle throw it in to help them float or throw a jumper etc for them to grab to pull them out.
