Class 4: A chat with Marc Jones

Visit to the Senedd

During our visit to the Senedd, Marc Jones, the Wrecsam MS, came to meet us as he was also there that day. He spent time chatting with the children and asked if there were any issues they would like him to raise in the chamber. The pupils spoke confidently about the concerns they have in Penley — the heavy traffic through the village, the speed of cars near the pedestrian crossing, the lack of buses to Wrexham, and most importantly, the fact that they are unable to use the local swimming pool for school lessons. Marc Jones listened carefully to every point they made and showed genuine interest in their ideas. He promised to look into the swimming pool situation for us, which meant a great deal to the children. We left feeling proud and valued. It was a powerful experience for our pupils to see that the voices of young people in Wales matter, and that their concerns can help shape real conversations in government🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿
