Today we had an amazing tour of the deep mine at Llechwedd. We spent 90 minutes underground learning how slate was mined and how local men and children risked their lives hanging from ropes drilling with a metal rod. We enjoyed the music and light show by the underground lake too. st cable railway and take a journey back to the surface.
