We had a lovely day on Friday for our Vocabulary Focus Day!
To begin the morning, everyone took part in a vocabulary catwalk. We catwalked our chosen word, explained its meaning, and shared why we picked it.
To begin the morning, everyone took part in a vocabulary catwalk. We catwalked our chosen word, explained its meaning, and shared why we picked it.
We then paired up with Class 2 for a fun filled day of activities. We started with story charades, acting out well known tales for our partners to guess. After that, we headed to Forest School for a book scavenger hunt. Pieces of book covers were hidden around the area, and Class 2 worked hard to find all 32! Once collected, they pieced them together like a jigsaw to reveal some of our favourite book covers. Then they did this for us, we loved it.
To finish the day, we enjoyed a reading picnic on the field. Everyone sat on blankets with cake and juice, reading stories to one another in the sunshine.
What a lovely day it was!
