In February, we were excited to welcome visitors from Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water to our school!
They led a fantastic assembly where we found out all about what shouldn’t be flushed down the toilet or washed down the sink. We were amazed (and a little shocked!) to see some of the things that can block pipes, such as wipes and other rubbish. We now understand how important it is to only flush the 3 Ps. Pee, poo and paper!
After the assembly, we took part in a fun and interactive workshop. Working in teams, we were given a challenge: could we programme a robot to travel the correct distance and direction through a set of pipes to clean them? 🤖
It wasn’t easy! We had to think carefully, measure accurately and work together, just like real engineers do when they use robots to fix and clean pipes underground.
We had a brilliant session learning about how to look after our environment in Wales and keep our water systems flowing smoothly. Thank you to Welsh Water for such a fun and educational visit! 💧
