Class 3: Size of Wales Deforestation Workshop 🌲🦍

We had such a fun time learning about the rainforests of the world and where they can be found, with Jodie from ‘Size of Wales’. We took part in hands-on activities and discussions to learn about the biodiversity of tropical forests and the lives of the people in them. We created our own map of the world, and placed the rainforest in the correct areas. We played animal games and found out all about the different animals that can be found in the different rainforests. With help from Tim Tom, the orangutan from Indonesia, we travelled to Borneo to find out about the animals that live there. We designed and made our own orangutan nests and tested them. We then found out how much of the rainforests are being cut down to grow palm trees, to create palm oil.  We looked at products that contain palm oil and discussed how unsustainable palm oil is and what action we can take to help. Thank you to Jodie and ‘Size of Wales’ for providing us with such a fun morning of learning.
