Class 1: Bonfire Night

Today we have been talking about Guy Fawkes and his plan to blow u p the Houses of Parliment and King James 1. We looked how people celebrate Bonfire night. We made bonfires, rockets and decorated biscuits with fireworks using icing.

Class 1: Diwali

We have been learning about the Hindu Festival of Light, Diwali. We read the story of Rama and Sita.  We then acted out the story, we made Rangoli patterns on the yard.  In the afternoon we made Diwa lamps, made cards and tried some Indian snacks.

Class 1: making bread

We have been reading The Little Red Hen where she makes bread.  Today we made hedgehog rolls.  We mixed the mixture with a spoon and our hands, then we kneaded the bread before we made them into a hedgehog shape.  We pinched the top to make spikes then we used raisins for their eyes.

Class 1: 1960”s

Today we have been trying food from the 1960’s. We tried spam sandwiches, cheese and pineapple on sticks and fruit cocktail.

We’ have  been using an atlas to identify where food comes from around the world.

CLass 1: Leaf Man

Our Autumn story is Leaf Man.  Today we collected leaves,sticks etc to make our own Leaf Man.

Class 1: Forest School

Today in forest school Miss Clark made flat bread on the fire, we had it for snack with chocolate and sprinkles. We collected leaves, looked for signs of Autumn and made wooden medals.
