Nursery: Our Kitchen Garden

We had a very exciting morning in Nursery today. Toni and Bill, who are grandparents of one of our Reception children, came in to school to help us get ready for planting in our Kitchen Garden.

This is the second year they have kindly given their time to help us.

Today we planted some sweet peas in a small seed tray, which will now go on the window sill for a week in class before we plant them in the garden. Then we put some potatoes in egg boxes, these will go in our cupboard before we plant them in our garden.

We have a blackcurrant bush in the garden.

We decided it might be a good idea to make some chips with the potatoes when they are ready and perhaps a pie with the blackcurrants!

We can’t wait for next week when Toni and Bill will visit us again.
